My Shoes Pt. 2

I made a new pair of shoes today! My brother gave my a new pair of vans for Christmas and I was so excited to make a new pair! My old pair is so worn out that I can fold them in half with ease. Like the other pair, this new pair has a bunch of black and white designs. Unlike the new pair, this pair had brightly colored arrows that are the primary colors we use everyday....well except for purple. I just like that color.

Like the other shoes, these are representing myself. However this time these shoes are really just representing me emotions as a whole. The arrows are used to show my direction. In many ways I know where I am going. In many ways I don't really know at all and am very confused. The primary colors used on the arrows represent that anything is possible. Different combinations of those colors can create any color seen by the eye. I think that it is important to show that the possibilities in life are endless. Each arrow also represents a path or a road. Just like the possibilities of colors, there are many decisions people make in life and many paths that they follow. The background of the shoes have my favorite india inked shapes and whatnot. This shows the craziness and creativity in my thoughts, emotions and actions.

I really like putting so much meaning into a design, especially one that I'm going to wear around everyday. It is like showing off a piece of myself to the world. It doesn't really matter if you like them or not because it has meaning to me. I'm pretty psyched on these shoes and am really happy with the way they turned out.

Characters

I like to draw cartoon characters. I really like to out a lot of emotion in their eyes to help their facial expressions. I think that cartoons should be funny and that you should be able to relate to the emotion the character is giving. I also think that you should be able to read their emotions easily and save the effort for laughing!

Here is a combination of cartoon characters I have compiled onto one page:

My Shoes

So I decided to make a pair of shoes that I will wear everywhere. I love these shoes because to me, they actually have a meaning other than random designs. Yes, I love using india ink and creating different lines and shapes. Not only is it peaceful, it is fun and relaxing. The meaning behind all of the lines is supposed to depict my thoughts inside my head. I am always thinking of a dozen things at a time. I usually have fragments of conversations, a narration, some music, and pictures playing throughout my mind 24/7. Drawing this jumble of whatever on my shoes is bringing a piece of me outside for the world to see. So whether it looks good to you or not, I don't really care. The personal meaning makes me proud to wear them around. Plus, black and white looks good with everything!

New Shoes Pt. 2

These shoes I designed for my other cousin, Gabi. She really likes this song and I thought that it would make her smile! I really enjoy creating shapes and odd designs so I hope she likes these shoes!

More Shoes!

These shoes I designed for my cousin Dani. She loves Lady Gaga and I thought that it would be a nice back-to-school present from me.

USA Climbing Shoes

Another pair of shoes! These ones I did for my favorite organization: USA Climbing. I really just wanted to draw their logo. On one shoe is the logo, on the other is the logo zoomed in.

Team Ascension Shoes

So I got this idea from my senior art teachers. When I graduated, they were painting shoes to go into a vans design contest. I decided I wanted to try it and got hooked. Here is my first pair. The logo is Team Ascension climbing team's logo. It didn't take me very long to do.

Concentration

These are 12 works from my senior AP Studio Art Class. My concentration focused on the rule of thirds and point of view in my photos.

Breadth

This is a collection of works I did for my senior AP Studio Art class. The subject for my portfolio was called breadth, meaning I had 12 works that displayed my range of skills in photography.
